Step By Step Guide to Gain a Business Visa in Dubai

Step By Step Guide to Gain a Business Visa in Dubai

A business visa is a long-term visa for entrepreneurs who establish a business in the United Arab Emirates. Depending on the scale of your investment, you could be a granted an investor visa for three years, five years, or ten years.

In order to be eligible for a ten-year business visa (also called investor visa), you need to establish a company that has a share capital of not less than AED 10 million. You could also be a partner in a firm that has a share capital of AED 10 million or more. Alternatively, you could invest AED 10 million in an investment fund that is based in the United Arab Emirates. You could also do both, provided the total value of your investment is AED 10
million. Not more than 60% of this should be in real estate.

The investment amount must not have been loaned, and it must be retained for three years at the very minimum. You should also be financially solvent to the tune of AED 10 million.

You are eligible for a five-year business visa if you invest in property valued at AED 5 million. The amount invested must not be a loan, and you must retain your investment in the property for three years at the very minimum. Alternatively, you could have an existing project that has a capital of AED 500,000 or approval from an accredited business incubator in the United Arab Emirates in order to be eligible for the five-year business visa.

Approved business incubators are HUB71 in Abu Dhabi and AREA2071 in Dubai.

If you do not meet these requirements, you become eligible for a three-year business visa upon company formation in Dubai or elsewhere in the United Arab Emirates, provided you meet the existing criteria.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security has its own set of requirements, which includes clearing a background check and completing a health assessment. These too must be met for you to be granted a Dubai business visa.

How to Apply for a Business Visa

You must have your nomination supported by an approved business incubator in the United Arab Emirates. Once your nomination for a business visa has been approved by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security, you will be invited to apply through their official website. When you complete the application process, you will receive an email on the further steps to be followed.

If you are in Dubai, you can also convert your visa into residency at SERVICES1 located at Emirates Towers.

In case your nomination for a business visa is not approved by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security, you can apply again after a period of 90 days.
Once you receive your business visa, you can sponsor your dependents to come over to the United Arab Emirates, provided the criteria established by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security are met. You can also nominate three of the senior staff at your business for residency.

It is recommended that you seek assistance from someone who provides professional service for business setup and investor visa. He/She would be able to provide you with
